I am Pálina, the creator of Borealis Candles, and candles have become my way to bottle emotions and landscapes. I handcraft each piece in small batches, carefully choosing waxes, fragrances, and details so that every candle feels like a small ritual of calm. Icelandic nature and Nordic aesthetics inspire me — the wind by the ocean, the glow of windows in the dark, the silence of snow. Through my candles, I want to bring this feeling of warmth, depth, and quiet presence into your home, so that when you light a wick, you light a moment just for yourself.
My idea
My idea for Borealis Candles was born from a simple desire: to slow down and make everyday life feel a little more magical. I wanted candles that were not just “nice scents,” but small stories about Iceland — its wind, ocean, lava, and quiet light. That is why I use natural materials and carefully composed fragrances, so each candle feels like a doorway into a mood, a memory, or a place. With Borealis, my goal is to create not just decor, but little rituals of warmth and presence that you can return to again and again.
My production
My production process is intentionally small-scale and hands-on. I pour my candles in small batches, which allows me to control every detail — from wax temperature and fragrance balance to the way each surface sets. I work only with carefully selected natural waxes and oils, testing combinations until the scent feels true to the mood or landscape I want to express. Every candle passes through my hands several times: when I prepare the vessels, pour the wax, trim the wicks, and check the finish. This way, production for me is not a conveyor, but a craft — slow, attentive, and honest.
When you bring a Borealis candle into your home, you are inviting in a small piece of my world. I pour these candles for people who are tired of rushing and want their home to feel like a safe, warm shelter.
